  • My worry and sadness would be that the people of our country will not discover their power during this horrible time (trump the Terrible). I'm afraid we are relying on Mueller and Congress to save us. We need to know that the government is there at the behest of the people who vote them in. I also hope the electoral college gets put in the trash bin of history along with BS Republican gerrymandering. Trump's election should have convinced us by now. It wasn't all Russian/Wikileaks interference.

  • Easily the best documentary on the Watergate affair. Totally fascinating!

  • Frank Sturgis was one of the 5 burglars who broke into Watergate. Interestingly, Sturgis trained Cuban exiles for the CIA' invasion of Cuba that resulted in the bay of Pigs. He was also implicated in the Kennedy assassination as was E. Howard Hunt. See Jim Mars' book that formed the basis of Oliver Stone's movie, JFK.

  • And we're going through this mess all over again thanks to Fat Donnie Trump. Only worse. THIS president has his own state propaganda channel in the form of FOX news. This is a struggle between good and evil, between a democratic republic and a dictatorship. Trump is evil, just as Nixon was evil. At least Nixon didn't invite the Russian president to sit down in the WH for dinner. Trump isn't ONLY a traitor. He's an idiot too.

  • Nixon"s "gesture of conciliation??????" He went down there and talked about football and surfing. These were serious young people who were pissed off that he had promised to stop the war, and then escalated it. "Conciliation," my hairy white ass.

  • I think he set the tone in his White House, which was "win at all costs." He was far too smart to actually order specific criminal acts that could be tied back to him. CREEP listened and broke in to the DNC. Upon first hearing about the break-in, if he had said, "this will not stand. I will not condone this behavior in my White House" he may have finished his two terms successfully. But he was dishonest, egotistical, arrogant, and paranoid.

  • I finally had to turn this off about the tenth time that creep Liddy showed up - who in the world would fall for that guy and give him money and authority? Really - talk about incompetence from the top on down!

  • These people were abysmally stupid and inept. I thought trump and his goons were an anomaly. Nope. Just standard issue Republicans who are dirty right out in the open. As well as psychotic. “The president was a compulsive conspiracy theorist.” Sound familiar?

  • Will never forget the Saturday Night Massacre. 8 years old at the time and CBS preempted All In The Family for a special news bulletin. You knew this was big stuff. We were all scared as it looked like a coup at the time.

  • Deep into to video it's revealing that Sam Dash was concerned that Nixon's tapes might vindicate him and expose Dean, the star witness, as a liar. If an investigator is really looking for the truth, that is not a worry one would ever have. That's only something an adversary would worry about. So, Dash reveals that his mission was to get Nixon and the others... not to sort out the truth.

  • Hunt wasn't one of the worst traitors and treasonous Maniacs that ever lived, you only have to dig into the guy for an hour and you see some operations he was involved in were astonishing whether the establishment admits it or not the evidence is all there, truely horrifying I'm just glad he made up for it in later life and admired to participating in kennedys assassination, but it's not just there there's other shit, he had contempt for America, period.

  • Check out "Secret Agenda" by Jim Hougan and "Silent Coup" by Colodny/Gettelin. These two well researched and documented investigative books put Woodward and Bernstein to shame. In fact, they expose Woodward as an insider who worked for the Navy in the White House and briefed Haig, among others.

  • What is amusing and horrifying is not only how venal, low, and vicious these men were and are, especially Hunt and Liddy, but how incompetent every one of their schemes was and how proud they are of their stupidity, years later. It's like they expected real life to be like a spy movie; they lived in a fantasy world where they were the evil villains, when they were just crooked clowns.

  • Nixon had a brilliant political mind which was hopelessly flawed with rank dishonesty but strangely enough his policy on Vietnam was his greatest crime where thousands died through his nefarious duplicity. If there is a Hell it stands a good chance that he'll be suffering there.

  • H.R was an extension of Nixon himself fully believed they were exempt from prosecution but at least he was loyal to the president, Haig brought Nixon down, I often wonder how things wouldve been if Nixon stuck with his original choice to replace haldeman with john finally.

  • G. Gordon Liddy is an inefficent, melodramatic lunatic. How anyone thought he should be involved in a covert mission is baffling.

  • One by one Nixon gave his friends up. By doing that he was no longer convincing to serve any public interests - for nobody. Finally his impudence to bend the law makes him to the traitor of public interests he was supposed to serve. I find the description very lively picturing how all this happened and why they could happen.
